Absorbtion

"Absorbtion", 2005.
-Decorative bowl.
-Hemp and copper macrame with horn and wood beads

This collection of candle-shades and vases represent three basic themes of life: spiral, tree, and light. The structure is that of a coil, in the form of wire-wrapping about a glass form. The branching tree formation provides the vertical framework. A tea-light or floating candle provides the inner light that brings the object to life. Alternately, the vase becomes a vessel to hold fleeting fragments of beauty, in the form of flowers plucked from your garden.
